Who we are
Kalyan Co is a wedding planning company based in Kochi, Kerala. We plan weddings across Kerala and destination weddings across India, from backwaters and beaches to palaces and hills, for families in India and for couples abroad, many of whom have never been to India before.
Kalyan means wedding, or an auspicious beginning, in several Indian languages. Our mark is a K with a silk thread wound round it, like the sacred thread tied on the couple’s wrists in many Indian wedding ceremonies, a promise made in front of both families. The thread carries the colours of the day, rani pink and saffron.
Most of our work happens on video calls and WhatsApp with couples in other time zones, and on the ground in Kerala and across India with the vendors, priests, cooks, drummers and decorators who make a wedding feel like a wedding.

We explain customs, never impose them. Fusion is welcome; so is a wedding with no rituals at all.
