An Indian engagement is when the two families formally agree to the marriage, often exchanging rings and gifts and fixing the wedding date. In Kerala it is called nischayam, and Christian families hold a manasammatham in church. We plan engagements from 30 to 300 guests, including for couples abroad.

Engagements range from a family lunch to a full evening party. For couples from abroad, it is often the first time both families meet, so we plan it to be relaxed, well translated and delicious.

### How long before the wedding is the engagement?

Anything from a day to a year. For destination weddings, many families hold a small engagement the day before the wedding so guests travel once.
